We became aware of Martino's work from the '100 Chairs in 100 Days' project in 2007, where he effectively re-purposed and built original chairs from pieces of discarded furniture. This was a great creative exercise as well as a direct commentary on up-cycling and sustainability. Martino has recently created an incredible window design program for Italian fashion house PRADA.
Corners is an evolutionary window design concept by Martino Gamper in collaboration with Prada which pays homage to the humble corner. The design draws its inspiration from perspective, fragments and contrasts between natural materials. Those elements are enhanced by the simplicity of a corner which is a common thread for all the displays. Corners is a space within a space, making each display a unique story designed to evolve with the seasons.

About Martino Gamper
Martino Gamper (b. 1971, Merano, Italy) lives and works in London. Starting as an apprentice with a furniture maker in Merano, Gamper went on to study sculpture under Michelangelo Pistoletto at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. He completed a Masters in 2000 from the Royal College of Art, London, where he studied under Ron Arad. Working across design and art venues, Martino Gamper engages in a variety of projects from exhibition design, interior design, one-off commissions and the design of mass-produced products for the cutting edge of the international furniture industry.

One of the coolest projects we've seen in awhile; British artist and photographer Michael Tummings documents the 'tribal' culture of hunters in their environments in a beautiful monograph titled "Hidden". Michael has also created a porcelain figure (limited to 25 pieces) series titled 'Huntsman' in a collaboration with German company Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory, a company begun in 1747. The figure is based largely on the subjects of the book, created to incredible detail using centuries-old techniques.
Michael Tumming’s series “Hidden” is a photographic study of a group of people and their culture going beyond the portraiture of individuals and presenting them as a kind of tribe. Tummings has followed the hunt throughout Europe (England, Romania, Spain, Germany,…) over five years. Travelling widely in season, the hunts he experienced were social events.

Issey Miyake has created a new deconstructed women's line for spring/summer. The pieces combine traditional proportions and patterns while using a subdued palate that is laced with cutting edge production technology, textures and construction techniques. Accessories such as the large bag and clutch have a near comic book-like color blocking style that really stands on its own.
The New Ford GT debuted today at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit to great anticipation. Seeming to touch on visual cues from the road-only Mk III (opinions?), the New (New) Ford GT promises world class performance and construction techniques. There is also chatter that it could make its competitive debut at this year's LeMans 24 Hours. We think its bloody gorgeous.

Samuel L. Jackson, seeming to channel both Mike Tyson and Russell Simmons(!) is the predictably cool but schizophrenic nemesis in this action packed spy-adventure premiering February 13th.
