Born out of a tumultuous relationship with Renzo Rivolta, designer/engineer Giotto Bizzarrini created what was to be a Ferrari-beater that kept exclusive company with the likes of Jaguar XKE, Ferrari 250, Ford GT40, Aston Martin DB and Lamborghini Miura as one of the most charismatic sports cars designed before or since.  The hand-beaten, thin-gauged, riveted aluminum body that would envelope an american Chevy 327 V8 made for a eclectic and effective combination in the pantheon of legendary italian sports cars of the early to mid 1960s.

DK Engineering confirms that "The car currently has valid FIA/HTP papers and is therefore eligible for numerous events during the racing calendar, including the Goodwood TT (where it started on the front row in 2014), the Spa Six Hours and the Masters historic racing series where it would be without doubt a front runner in the right hands..."

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. has launched an amazing website chronicling its illustrious 95-year history with stories, milestones, reference data and photography.  The various decades show clearly the evolution of the modern Japanese motorcar beginning officially in 1933 where Jidosha Seizo Co., Ltd., predecessor of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., was established in Yokohama with paid-in capital of ¥10,000,000.  Head over and see early versions of the GT-R, Fairlady Z as well as domestic (Japan) passenger vehicles and electric cars as well.  With all the beautiful images and history to pore over, its definitely NSFW.

The Andrews Collection at RM Sotheby's: 1959 Lister-Chevrolet

RM Sotheby's has a very special example of British-American racing cars at auction today, Saturday, May 2--the 1959 Lister-Chevrolet.  This gorgeous machine (Chassis No. BHL / Engine No. 3789935) with lightweight aluminum "knobbly' body that many Lister cars are famous for, is mated to a 436 bhp Small-Block Chevrolet engine making for a potent combination back then, and we suspect so even today.  This cars holds lap records at Oulton Park, Goodwood and Spa, Belgium, has proper FIA paperwork and would make any serious collection complete.

$500,000-$650,000 (No Reserve)

Upcoming: 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV at RM Sotheby's Amelia Island

Ok, just take a moment.

Are you drinking it in?

All done?

You are looking at arguably the most beautiful thing on four wheels; the 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV.  This example, chassis No.4884 formerly owned by notable Lamborghini authority Joe Sackey (www.joesackey.com) is documented as the very first SV model imported to the United States.  The SV model, slotted between the standard P400, S and J (Jota) competition models was fully restored by the renowned Gary Bobileff of Gary Bobileff Automobiles between 2005 and 2006.  The Marcello Gandini-designed (he penned the car at age 27) Bertone body all but physically defines the term "supercar", which the Muira is credited with being the first mid-engine configured road car.

This concours car will be going on the block in March at RM Sotheby's Amelia Island auction.

The New Yorker: 90 for 90

Venerable magazine and institution (whose subscription department once sent Marge Simpson a rejection letter, lol) celebrates its 90th birthday this year.  Various versions of the ever-present Eustace Tilley, that monocled aristocrat that has solidified the brand since 1925, is expressed by a host of new and returning cover artists for this issue.
